Stem Cell Therapy

We are proud to offer the service of stem cell therapy to our clients.

Stem cell therapies are being used to help animals with many different problems, but currently the strongest evidence for the use of stem cell injections in veterinary medicine is for the management of pain and disability due to osteoarthritis (OA), tendon injuries and other joint problems.

The procedure involves taking radiographs of your pet’s joints to see those most affected by osteoarthritis and therefore would benefit the most and to take about 1 teaspoon of your pets own fat along with a blood sample. This then gets sent away to a lab where the harness the fat to produce stem cells. These stem cells are then injected into the affected joints.

Several studies have shown these effects to be long lasting – for at least 6 months and up to 2 years. Many dogs are able to reduce their reliance on pain relief medication during this time.
